Pros:It does work but for limited periods, sugar free, moisturizes
Cons:Can leave a whitish substance around my lips and doesn't last long

Note: My dry mouth has nothing to do with oral problems. Read on to understand "why" my mouth is dry and why it's my own fault. I was hoping to find something that helped deal with the problem without giving up comfort when sleeping but there's only one way that mission will be accomplished and I'm not quite ready to give up my sleeping convenience. Under normal circumstances, I'm sure it works to a certain degree for anyone with ordinary dry mouth. Use at your own discretion.

I use an overhead fan in my bedroom along with a box fan and an oscillating fan. All are pointed towards me to help keep me comfortable but I also snore so guess what? Dry mouth! Some nights I've woken up with the biggest ball of cotton in my mouth and that cotton is stuck to the roof so that I've had to run to the bathroom for water to unstick my tongue or just get some relief. I was keeping a glass of water beside my bed to help when I woke up during the night but there's only so much water can do and frankly, it doesn't help all night long. I was waking up a lot and with interrupted sleep, I wasn't getting the rest I needed.

Someone suggested Biotene Moisturizing Mouth Spray and I was ready to give it a try. I would have tried anything to keep my mouth moisturized. Anyway, a bottle was given to me and I started using it right away.

Biotene says it refreshes and moistens plus it helps to keep mouth fresh. I agree with the fresh mouth but while it does moisten for a brief period, I still wake up during the middle of the night with my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth.

I suppose if I removed the fans, that would take care of my problem but my room is upstairs in a very large house and the a/c doesn't seem to work as well up there during the hot parts of our southern summer. I need the air to stay comfortable and in doing so, I'll still be dealing with a dry mouth until "fall" arrives and I can turn the fans off.

Biotene comes in a 1.5 fl oz spray bottle and, to me, it has a faint minty taste. It's nothing unpleasant and with only 2 sprays, my mouth is refreshed and moisturized. I try to hide my head under the covers to keep my mouth from getting the full blast of air but that seems to cut off my breathing (duh) and it doesn't eliminate the snoring that I seem to be afflicted with.
